TEHRAN (IRNA) -- President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad cabled a message on Monday to Japanese Prime Minister Yasuo Fukuda in which he underlined that expansion of ties between the two countries is important.

President Ahmadinejad sent the message in response to a congratulatory message sent by the Japanese premier on anniversary of victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran.
President Ahmadinejad underlined that regional and global developments make it necessary for the two sides to further broaden and bolster mutual ties.
The Iranian president also described the two sides' relations as historical, adding that Tehran fully welcomes deepening and expansion of all-out cooperation with Tokyo.
